Visitor Visa
An Australia travel visa is required for holiday-making, visiting and sightseeing in Australia. If your country is listed on the Electronic Tourist Visa Eligible Passport List, you can apply online. In most cases, ETA visas are issued instantly. Once you have submitted an application, it usually only takes a few seconds for the visa to be granted. The Visitor visa (subclass 600) allows you to visit Australia for tourism or business visitor activities. Tourism includes holidays, recreation and seeing family or friends.
The ETA Tourist visa is for tourists and travelers and is valid for a maximum stay in Australia of 3 months. To apply for an ETA Tourist Visa, you must also hold a passport from an eligible country. The ETA Business visa has the same validity as the ETA Tourist visa, being valid for a maximum stay in Australia of 3 months, but was designed for business travelers to Australia. You cannot work for or provide services to a business or organization in Australia or sell goods or services to the public. If you are intending to do short-term work in Australia you should apply for the new Temporary work (short stay activity) visa (subclass 400).
Visitor Visa Requirements:
Applicants must satisfy four essential criteria:
• they must genuinely intend to stay temporarily in Australia;
• they must be seeking to visit Australia for purposes other than business or medical treatment;
• they must have access to or have adequate means to support themselves; and
• they must satisfy the relevant public interest criteria, including health and character.
